There is practically no float service condition in India.
All the applications are cyclic , often to even 70%
depth of discharge.Most of the installations are in
non-A/c rooms where the ambient temperature can go up
to 45 deg C.Barring few cities , average power failure
is 2 to 3 hours a day. In semi-urban & rural areas
, it is as high as even 10 hours a day.
Even “Quality” of power is highly questionable
in many areas including the capital city; puts VRLA
batteries under very arduous charge - discharge cycles
without adequate recharge. Few organized system manufacturers
leaving us to operate with power systems with far less
reliability.
Average time taken for installation can vary from 2
months to 9 months & VRLA battery should be capable
of delivering 100% capacity in 1st cycle after such
prolonged storage under high temperatures. |
